Most people aren’t stuck because they lack talent.
They’re stuck because they’ve accepted a lie—
A lie about who they’re allowed to be.
It’s hard to dream big when your entire life has been shaped around playing it safe.
When the world teaches you to shrink, you start calling that “humility.”
When you settle just to survive, you start calling that “responsibility.”
But let’s be clear:
Safety isn’t the same as purpose.
And settling isn’t the same as peace.
The Elephant in the Room
Back in the 1950s, baby elephants were trained in captivity by chaining them to giant metal stakes. No matter how hard they pulled or how much they strained, they couldn’t break free.
Eventually, they stopped trying.
As adults, those elephants—now thousands of pounds stronger—were tied with nothing more than a thin rope to a flimsy wooden peg.
They never tried to escape.
They weren’t held by the rope.
They were held by the belief that they couldn’t break free.
What’s Holding You?
The same thing that held them might be holding you:
-
A childhood message that said “be realistic.”
-
A workplace culture that rewards silence over authenticity.
-
A community that celebrates survival, but not expansion.
Limiting beliefs don’t need to be true.
They just need to be old.
You’re Allowed to Want More
If you’re feeling stuck, it might not be your talent—it might be your training.
You’re allowed to want more.
You’re allowed to outgrow the version of yourself other people are comfortable with.
You’re allowed to break the rope.
Because here’s the truth:
The stake’s not there anymore.
