Stop Saying You’re Trying. You Already Are.
“Trying? You’re doing.”
That’s what I told someone recently who downplayed their own momentum.
She’s building a coaching business, promoting a book, and showing up consistently online with wisdom and heart. And yet, she called it “trying.”
But let’s be honest—we’ve all done this.
We soften our power with small language.
We say “I’m trying” when what we mean is:
I’m tired but showing up.
I’m scared but still sharing.
I’m in motion, even when it’s messy.
Trying Is a Stall Word
Trying is what we say when we’re unsure.
When we’re hedging.
When fear puts on a mask and calls itself humility.
It feels safe.
It gives us an out.
But shipping—that’s different.
Shipping means you’ve crossed the chasm from hesitation to courage.
It means you’ve faced resistance—and danced with it.
It means you’ve made something, finished it, and offered it to the world.
You’re not hiding.
You’re not perfect.
But you’re visible</
