I Write What I Like

The real test of relevance is if someone will miss you when you’re gone.  Miss you when you stop showing up.  It’s always surprises me when someone says to me you haven’t made a post in a while.  What they’re saying is that you haven’t showed up and I miss that.

When I started this blog I wrote mostly about marketing.  Although I love the business of marketing I don’t really like solely writing about it.  Marketing is what allows me the freedom to write this blog.  I don’t mean marketing the blog, or selling stuff on it because I don’t market it and nothings for sale on it.  The marketing I’m privileged to do for clients that pay me to market their brands funds the time and expense of maintaining this blog.

The amazing thing about writing is that if you do it enough, and just let it flow you can find your self…your true north.  Today I write this blog because I want to influence you (the reader) to take action (where ever you see fit), to connect with another human in a meaningful way, or to start something new.  That’s what I like to write about.  Those things take me in different directions, and different trains of thought.  It’s an important work…not because I think so but because when I don’t someone misses it…and that humbles me.

Many top bloggers, and social media mavens don’t write their own blog or social media post…they outsource it to agency’s like mine, or to freelancers.  This blog and what I’m trying to accomplish with it is far to important for that.

So is what you’re trying to do.  It doesn’t take long at all to write something that can change someone, show an act of kindness, share an insight, to give beyond your resources, or to take a leap of faith.  So what are you waiting for?
